To co-ordinate the deliveries function and monitor and control drivers, bikers and dispatch staff. Rota planning and dealing with any staff disciplinary issues.
These responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following

Managing the drivers / bikers and despatch team

To ensure all daily routines are completed within agreed timescales.

To liaise with customer services(call centre supervisor), finance, night shift and restaurants

To ensure the companies operational vehicles are maintained in accordance with manufacturers maintenance schedules

To ensure all necessary legislation is complied with in relation to the company’s operational vehicles and those engaged to drive them. This must include the routine checking of driver licences.

To recruit drivers as and when required and in agreement with the Managing Director

To ensure the effective training of all staff to include drivers/bikers and the despatch team

To ensure adequate contingency is in place in the event of absenteeism

To make proposals on the future requirements for the number of vans, bikes and drivers to ensure effective delivery of goods is maintained

To monitor the conditions of the vehicles on a regular basis and to ensure the drivers “care of the vehicle” bonus is applied correctly

To monitor the use of the company mobile telephones provided to drivers for use when working for the company Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills.

Manage and motivate staff, recruit staff, train and develop staff, according to company policies and employment laws, and ensure relevant HR procedures are followed (appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc).

Manage and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets

Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
